Giampiero Iaffaldano

Giampiero Iaffaldano studied Physics in Rome at University "La Sapienza". Currently he is a Daly Postdoctoral Fellow of the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Harvard University. He completed his Ph.D. at the International Graduate College THESIS of the Bavarian Elitenetwork, under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Peter Bunge. His research aims at a detailed understanding of the magnitude and spatial distribution of driving and resisting forces in Plate Tectonics, for which he uses numerical simulations of global lithosphere dynamics performed in conjunction with 3-D mantle circulation models.
