Tenured Faculty Position

The Department of Geosciences at Princeton University is seeking applications for a tenured faculty position in solid-earth geophysics. We are particularly interested in individuals who could interact productively with current members of the department, in areas including but not limited to seismology, geodynamics, and mineral physics.

Ocean Engineer

The Department of Geosciences at Princeton University is seeking applications for an (Ocean) Engineer with training or experience in (ocean) acoustics, electronics and satellite communication. A Master's degree is required at the time of employment. In addition to being highly technically competent and willing to work in a scientific environment, the ideal candidate is driven, self-motivated and can work independently. He or she will be responsible for all technical aspects related to the laboratory and in-situ testing, deployment and continuing development of the MERMAID prototype. This is an autonomous oceanic float of the SOLO type equipped with acoustic listening capabilities suitable to detect and record signals from far-away earthquakes. A willingness to travel, also internationally, is essential. The initial appointment is for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal dependent on satisfactory job performance. Post-Doctoral Research Associate position in ocean biogeochemistry at Princeton University

The Geosciences Department at Princeton University seeks an ocean experimentalist or modeler to join a diverse research program working to understand carbon and oxygen fluxes in the Southern Ocean. The position, in Michael Bender’s group, provides broad opportunities for seagoing studies and for the integration of results from experimental work, complex ocean models, and remote sensing.  We seek an individual with expertise in ocean biogeochemistry, stable isotope geochemistry, and/or ocean modeling.
