  • The 2006-2007 Arnold Guyot Graduate Student Teaching Prizes have been awarded to Peter DiFiore and Sarah Johnston. Criteria used in evaluations are length of service, student course evaluations, and overall contribution to development to the laboratory curriculum.

  • Congratulations to Tony Dahlen who was awarded the Lehmann medal, one of the highest honors AGU bestows on its members.The Lehmann Medal will be given not more often than every other year in recognition of outstanding contributions to the understanding of the structure, composition, and dynamics of the Earth's mantle and core. It was awarded to Tony for fundamental theoretical advances laying the foundations of modern global seismology.
  • Congratulations to Jorge Sarmiento for being elected as a 2003 AGU fellow. AGU members who are selected as Fellows have attained an acknowledged eminence in a branch of the geophysical sciences. The number of Fellows selected annually is limited to no more than 0.1% of the AGU membership.
