Frederik does a fantastic job starting from the bare threads of geophysics and then ramping up to what is relevant for the course. for instance, in one lecture, he started off explaining what exactly a force was, and ultimately ended up describing forces driving convection in the mantle. Even though my math background was poor, I was able to understand at a basic level what each formula meant. Frederik's pacing is perfect — just the right tempo, not too fast and not too slow (though for me, you can never explain things too slowly in geophysics). And he draws the world's best diagrams.

Great overview, super thought provoking, and taught by two fantastic professors!
