EMPLOYMENT

May 2000 - Present

Ministry of Trade and Industry

P.O. Box 173

Thimphu: Bhutan

Served as the PI for geologic mapping, mineral exploration, slope instability studies, time series monitoring of glaciers in the northern frontiers, risk assessment for glacial lake outburst floods, seismic hazard assessment, and I am the leading person for tectonics and structural geology research in the country. Conducted geophysical surveys including electric resistivity, and seismic reflection and refraction which are important for imaging sub-surface geology. Took a lead role in establishing temporary seismic network to acquire seismic data both at micro and macro levels in the country under the technical collaboration with the University of Texas at El Paso and laid foundation for the on-going Geodetic Survey in collaboration with the University of Colorado, Boulder.
