Raman spectroscopy

Vibrational spectroscopy is useful tool to investigate high-pressure structure changes and thermodynamic properties.  A micro-Raman spectroscopy system designed for in situ high-pressure study has been built in our lab.  The main components of this system are an Ar ion laser (tunable, 200 mW), CCD detector (Princeton Instruments), 0.5 m spectrometer, and holographic optics.  This system was obtained in part with assistance from Iris Unique Spectral Devices.
